Gordon has just completed recording the debut album of the Au Brothers Jazz Band, as well as serving as Musical Director, conductor, and arranger for the recording of Carmen París's forthcoming album, combining big band jazz and Spanish jota.

Gordon will join Melissa Aldana on FRI the 17th at Fat Cat, and then for a five-night residency at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, Feb. 21-25th, featuring Marcus Gilmore, Nir Felder, Joseph Lepore, and Ross Pederson!

October 27-30 will see the festival debut of the Au Brothers Jazz Band (www.AuBrothers.com) in Pismo Beach, CA. Joining the three brothers will be 'Uncle' Howard Miyata, Katie Cavera, and Danny Coots. In addition, Gordon will be a featured guest artist with multiple bands at the festival. 06.25.11Final Concert in Madrid, SPAIN

Gordon's tour of Spain concludes tonight with the Camila Meza Quintet live at Bogui Jazz in Madrid, featuring Melissa Aldana along with Gordon, Pablo Menares and Jeffrey Fajardo. This follows their debut performance last night, and the earlier debut two nights ago of EPHEMINITY, a collaboration with famed flamenco singer Carmen París, at the Plaza de la Ayuntamiento in Toledo, for thousands of people.

Monday, June 13: Gordon will be performing alongside David Ostwald, leader of Birdland's Louis Armstrong Centennial Band, and Vince Giordano, leader of the famed Nighthawks, to induct honoree GEORGE AVAKIAN as an ASCAP Jazz Wall of Fame Living Legend.

"The Grand St. Express," the debut album of Gordon's traditional jazz band, the Grand St. Stompers, is off to the press. Our release show will be at Radegast Hall (Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY) on WED June 15, 9PM-midnight! We may follow this up with a release dance party, details TBD - stay tuned....

The latest: album mixing is underway, under the masterful hand/ear of Bryan Shaw; Peter Karl engineered the recording session with wondrous results. Liner notes are coming from jazz blogger extraordinaire Michael Steinman, and artwork from Melissa Pagluica is charming, as you can see here.

The Grand St. Stompers just wrapped recording their first album, which features the angelic singing of Tamar Korn, reed acrobatics by Dennis Lichtman and the great Dan Levinson, shining swaths of brass by Gordon Au and Matt Musselman, 88 magic keys played by Ehud Asherie, undistilled swing from Nick Russo on banjo and guitar, solid groove from Rob Adkins on the bass, and the steam engine Kevin Dorn on drums.
